Midwife; full antenatal and postnatal care. Homebirths conducted or midwife deliveries done at Vincent Pallotti hospital, Constantiaberg hospital and Mowbray Active Birth Unit.

Services offered

Although her main practice is based in Muizenberg, she offers antenatal consultations at the Greenhouse every 2nd week.
She conducts a Birthing workshop on a Saturday every 2 months.
She runs a Baby clinic for monitoring the baby’s growth and development, and for parental advice and counseling.
She also offers a baby massage group on the last Friday of each month.

Qualification and Registration

She is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with the SA Nursing Council.

Experience

She has worked as a midwife for 22 years, both in private practice and in Provincial hospitals. She started private practice as Midwives Inc with Sr Joy McPherson in 1994. She has also completed a Counseling course and an Aromatherapy and Massage course in 1999.

Personal

Mother of 5 children; 4 of them were homebirths and the last one was a waterbirth.
Sandy has special interests in Alternative therapies and Martial Arts.
